Blue Tongue Management in Brief
The Lizard came from my youth when I saved one of the creatures from a grass fire in suburban Adelaide. That Blue Tongue Lizard became a cool pet and the seed planted. I travelled Australia in its entirety from 1985 to 1995 gaining invaluable experience from this countries multitude of cultures, it's infinite events and festivals.
I had absorbed a passion for rock music at am early age working as a glass boy at The Bridgeway Hotel in SA where I saw the rise of the Australia's greatest bands such as Cold Chisel, The Angels Rose Tattoo and more. Later I frequented Australia's many festivals and events that far broadened my musical taste and value for the arts.
An opportunity presented itself in Lightning Ridge, the black opal capital of the world, to help create and co ordinate a three day multi cultural music and arts festival that portrayed the regions indigenous and ethnic transcultural values. I mixed ideals from my patronage at various events I participated over the years with that which the people of Lightning Ridge had brought to the table, a
'A Vivid Splash Of Colour' was created and 8 months later the circus came to town. Featuring bands and performers from the local region and across the country from many backgrounds, cultures and genre we broadcast the event via Com Rad Sat to the world of Community Radio. And so in 1996 Blue Tongue Management officially launched into event management.
Business moved to Brisbane and continued with events including The Brisbane Bicycle Grand Prix on South Bank, the Marburgh October Fest and an expansion into band management and tour logistics.
Late '99 a relocation to Sydney and a contract with Carlton United Brewery during the 2000 Olympiad followed by a contract in sales for high end corporate and government events brought valuable experience to the table all the while continuing in band and tour management.
2002 Blue Tongue Management established into a national events, music management and tour logistics operation for the famous and the not so famous entertainers. This included some very exciting youth artists and a five year contract managing the business of The Angels Band (The Angels without Doc Neeson). Blue Tongue Management oversaw all aspects of the bands re birth that included national tour booking, budgets, logistics, business relationships, marketing, promotion, digital marketing, social networking and national tour management.
Proudly, Blue Tongue Management, together with the band members and Catalyst PR, succeeded in doing what the music industry said would never happen. We turned The Angels Band into a national success and paved the way for The Angels to reform in 2008.
From 2009 - 2011 further study of digital platforms, social networks, web systems and their integration, management of emerging Gold Coast band Shadow Thieves and freelance show bookings for Don Walker and Kevin Borich respectively for specific tours, professional consultation for other youth artists.
In March 2011 Blue Tongue Management signed Harmonic Generator (France) and Dave Tice and Mark Evans (Australia) and joint management of Raise The Flag with Jammore Entertainment in Western Australia.
