Shadow Thieves
In October 2009 skin was shed, a metamorphosis occurred and the emergence of Shadow Thieves resulted. A style and focus fusing the likes of rock, indie, progressive, roots, funk and atmospheric music.
Some music inspires thoughts and emotions; other music gives no option but to dance until your bones are blistered. Shadow Thieves have found themselves probing a style that is sitting on the borderline between these two reactions like a shinning toll booth, spewing light and colour into the unsuspecting sky. This is the gateway to the radiance that symbolizes Shadow Thieves, a band rocking on the first wave of the socialistic digital age.
The band packs a wealth of experience from previous projects and have put this into three works they have recorded at Loose Stone Studios in 2009. ‘The Promise’ and ‘Mystery’ were mastered by Forrester Savell and ‘Dinosaur Skin’ in is currently with Ted Jenson (Nickleback, Green Day, Muse) at Sterling Studio's in New York for the final mix. Three more songs will be recorded early 2010 prior to the bands inaugural 6 track release penned for April 2010.
Invited by Gold Coast City Council's 'A Venue' to feature on the councils Sister City cultural exchange website with Fort Lauderdale USA, the band is set to represent S.E Queensland's talented music pool. Matty, Jack and Joey are honored by the opportunity and look forward to expanding their reach at an international level and will be kicked off early 2010.
Artists this trio have shared the stage with include, End Of Fashion, Mammal, Shihad, Spiderbait, The Butterfly Effect, COG, and The Angels, they have performed over 100 shows from Byron Bay to Mackay in another project and successfully headlined The HardRock Cafe, Miami Tavern Shark Bar, The Fisherman’s Wharf Tavern and Swell Tavern on The Gold Coast recently. Events performed include Big Day Out '09, Fresh Fest ’09, Loud Festival ’09 and Caxton Street Seafood and Wine Festival Brisbane ’09.
Finishing the year with a bang, the band perform a multi billed event at Fisherman's Wharf Tavern on New Years Eve aptly named 'The Resolution Party'. Featuring 3 Rock bands and 3 Hip Hop acts it will certainly be a night to ring out the last moments of 2009 into 2010 so Shed your skin and lets get started.
